Q: Can I use an Ipod/MP3 player or wear headphones while I run?

A: Please understand that while we recognize most runners utilize ipods or other music devices for your recreational running, using such devices in a competitive atmosphere is a safety risk for you and the other runners because of the number of runners and the narrowness of the trail.

As our race is sanctioned by the USATF we are required to follow their guidelines which also state that Ipods are considered "assistance to the runner" and are prohibited in competition per sanctioning guidelines.

Having explained our stand that our primary concern is the safety of all of the participants, Ipods will be tolerated as long as you (the individual runner) are aware of your surroundings (this is an up & back course so people will be passing in both directions) and are not creating a safety concern to yourself or those around you. Please know that if we determine that there is cause, you can be pulled from the race course by our monitors for the safety of others.

Q) I'm coming from out of town, are there hotels near by?

A) The Marriott (Pittsburgh Airport) located just off of the Montour Trail and 1.75 miles from the Ikea store where the race begins. The address for the Marriott is 777 Aten Rd, Coraopolis, PA 15108, phone 412-788-8800 or toll-free 1-800-328-9297 The Marriott (Pittsburgh Airport)

There are also a number of other hotels in the area as the Ikea store and the Montour Trail are located in the vicinity of the Pittsburgh airport, using the search for Coraopolis 15108 hotels would provide the area hotels.
