Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) and 5K Run (3.1 Miles)
- ChampionChips for timing will be given out on race day. We are using disposible ChampionChip now.
- Course Description:
- The course is an out and back course mostly along the Montour Trail, which is part of the Rails-to-Trails program. The trail's smooth, crushed limestone surface is flat and fast; look for a personal record. The race starts at the Mall at Robinson and travels down a hill for approximately three quarters of a mile. The course then turns left onto the trail. The scenic Montour Run, a small creek, runs along much of the course and showcases the trail's natural beauty. The half marathon course also goes through historic Enlow Tunnel, a 576 foot long lighted tunnel located near mile marker 7 on the trail. The race finish is near where the course turned onto the trail.
- Cool Down Runs:
- Available past the Gazebo on the Montour Trail. DO NOT go back onto the race course.
- Water and Sports Drinks:
- Available throughout the course at selected mile markers.
- Safety:
-
Please understand that while we recognize most runners utilize iPods or other music devices for your recreational running, using such devices in a competitive atmosphere is a safety risk for you and the other runners because of the number of runners and the narrowness of the trail.
iPods will be tolerated as long as you (the individual runner) are aware of your surroundings (this is an up & back course so people will be passing in both directions) and are not creating a safety concern to yourself or those around you. Please know that if we determine that there is cause, you can be pulled from the race course by our monitors for the safety of others.
NO strollers; dogs; roller blades or bicycles on the course.
